STMA Investing in Sichuan Leaf Production

The State Tobacco Monopoly Administration is planning to invest Yuan6 billion during the next three years in establishing high-quality tobacco production areas in China's Sichuan Province, according to a Tobacco China Online report quoting the Sichuan Daily. The Panxi region of Sichuan is said to be the most suitable for the production of high-quality leaf. Currently, the high-quality leaf produced in Sichuan for use by major Chinese tobacco manufacturers in producing the country's key competitive brands always falls short of demand. Enditem
