Hongta Group to Start Project of Relocating, Transforming Production Lines

Hongta Group in southwest China's tobacco-producing Yunnan Province - the largest Chinese tobacco manufacturer - will start in the near future the implementation of a project of relocation and technical transformation of the leaf tobacco threshing and redrying lines at Threshing and Redrying Workshop No. 1 in its subordinate Yuxi Cigarette Factory, in accordance with the relevant instructions of the State Tobacco Monopoly Administration and Yunnan Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation and also its development strategy. Meanwhile, in an effort to guarantee the supply of qualified raw materials and meet the need for raw materials storage, Hongta Group will also start in the near future a project of building new leaf tobacco storage facilities at its subordinate cigarette factories in the key tobacco-producing regions of Yuxi, Dali and Chuxiong. On December 5-6, a group of experts organized by Yunnan Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation - the operator of the manufacturing sector of the tobacco industry of Yunnan - conducted theoretical proof of the project of relocating and technically transforming the two 12,000kg/h leaf tobacco threshing and redrying lines at Yuxi Cigarette Factory and also the project of building new leaf tobacco storage facilities. Present at the meeting of theoretical proof were government leaders of Yuxi City and Hongta District, officials with the relevant functional departments of local governments and more than 20 experts on fixed assets investment. After careful studies and repeated theoretical proof, it was concluded that implementation of the projects will result in realizing level-to-level quality control; development of model blending formulas; research and application of new technologies such as the technology of threshing in groups; improvement of follow-up processing of leaf tobacco; guarantee of the stability of quality of different batches of leaf tobacco; and guarantee of the supply of high-quality leaf tobacco for cigarette production.
