Agreement Signed on Production of Paper-Process Reconstituted Tobacco

Four Chinese enterprises signed an agreement on July 13 on the development of a project of paper-process reconstituted tobacco production in Anshun City in southwest China's tobacco-producing Guizhou Province. Based in the vicinity of the former Qingsong Cigarette Factory in the Economic-Technological Development Zone in Anshun City, the project will be capable of producing 10,000 tons of paper-process reconstituted tobacco and support products each year, and processing 60,000 tons of waste leaf tobacco annually. After going into operation, the project will be able to annually generate 350 million yuan (46 million U.S. dollars) in output value, 86 million yuan (11 million U.S. dollars) in profits and 30 million yuan (3.9 million U.S. dollars) in taxes. Besides, it will also create more than 400 new jobs. Signing the agreement were Guizhou Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation, Guizhou Branch of China National Tobacco Corporation, Guangdong Provincial Golden Leaf Development Co. and Guangdong Provincial Golden Tobacco Sheeting Technology Development Co., Ltd. in south China's Guangdong Province.
