Mozambique Plant Ready for New Line Source from: tobaccoreporter.com Thursday, September 7, 2006 09/08/2006 Mozambique Leaf Tobacco (MLT) is planning to install a second processing line at its factory in Tete, which was inaugurated only in May, according to an Agencia de Informacao de Mocambique report. The new line would take its annual installed capacity from 50,000 tonnes to 60,000 tonnes.
Alfredo Chambule, an official of the company, said that the introduction of the new processing line would require an increase in the amount of tobacco grown, and would create new jobs within the factory.
He said that MLT, which is a subsidiary of Universal Tobacco, was ready to go ahead with the installation of the new line; so everything now depended on receiving approval from the relevant authorities. Enditem
