Tobacco Company, Manufacturer Reach Agreement on Joint Establishment of Production Base

The Three Gorges Tobacco Subcompany in central China's Henan Province and Zhejiang Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation in east China's Jiangsu Province have recently reached an agreement of intent on joint establishment of an exclusive leaf tobacco production and supply base in the tobacco-producing Three Gorges area in Henan for tobacco manufacturers in Zhejiang. Under the agreement of intent reached at a meeting of officials and managers in charge of leaf tobacco sales, purchase and quality control from both sides, the Three Gorges Tobacco Subcompany will organize the production of leaf tobacco at the exclusive base in the Three Gorges area for supply to tobacco manufacturers in Zhejiang for a duration of three years. At the meeting, officials of the Three Gorges Tobacco Subcompany briefed their counterparts from Zhejiang Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation on the tobacco company's efforts over recent years to develop the Three Gorges leaf tobacco brand; take the lead in China in introducing the ISO quality assurance systems in quality control over leaf tobacco production; strengthen quality control over the whole process of leaf tobacco production, develop technical and management innovations one after another; and keep improving the quality of leaf tobacco in accordance with the market demand and requirement of customers, and in compliance with industrial management theories. The two sides fully affirmed the achievements in bilateral cooperation over the past few years, sincerely exchanged views on further cooperation, and reached consensus on the tenets and principles governing bilateral cooperation, the duration of cooperation, the forms of leaf tobacco supply and delivery and investment policies concerning the joint establishment of the exclusive leaf tobacco production and supply base.
