India: Awareness against Tobacco Consumption Source from: The Times of India 08/03/2016 ![]() A function was held at University Institute of Health Sciences, Chhatrapati Sahuji Maharaj University on Tuesday to create awareness against tobacco consumption. A slogan and poster competition was held in which students from various schools participated. Ayush and Arya Dwivedi from Sri Ram Public School and BNSD Shiksha Niketan bagged first and second position in slogan competition. Chief medical officer RP Yadav said that tobacco strikes one physically, mentally and financially. Ex-principal of GSVM Medical College SK Katiyar said that India stands second in the world in tobacco use. Every day, around 6,000 children start using tobacco for fun and 50% of them get addicted to it. |
