Illegal Tobacco Sales in Portland Area Triple National Rate

The rate of illegal tobacco sales to minors in the Portland metro area is triple the national rate, according to a recent study by the federal government.

Multnomah County is considering requiring businesses that sell tobacco and e-cigarettes to have licenses.

During a public hearing Tuesday, the chief operating officer of Plaid Pantry stores said the company isn't against regulations, but thinks they should come from the state level. Enditem
