Cigar Box Gets into Season of Giving

This year's lottery tree raffle at Cigar Box will spread a little extra holiday cheer with a donation to the charity of a winner's choice.

"This time of the year is when a lot of people struggle with money, so this is a way they can help others without spending all of that money," Chuck Joy, assistant manager of the Saint Clair Cigar Box, said Thursday.

A $10 raffle ticket will enter patrons to win the "jack-in-the-cigar-box" tree, which includes $5,000 in lottery tickets as well as two LEGO block sets, three building block sets and the 6 1/2 feet tall lottery tree display.

The lucky winner will also get to select a charity of their choice for a $500 donation to be made in their name by Cigar Box. The raffle will be drawn on Tuesday.

"It's nice because one of our customers will win the tree, it will be a local," Sara Parsons, online manager at Cigar Box, said.

"Someone local is going to win it. It's not going to be someone from another part of the state like the typical Pennsylvania lottery," Joy said.

Cigar Box has hosted other lottery tree raffles with themes like a sleigh, train, Santa, fireplace and gingerbread house, all designed by Laurie Veet, general manager at Cigar Box. Enditem
