Kenya: Underage Children Smoking Trend On The Rise

Speaking during a forum held in Murang'a NTCB chair Nancy Gachoka noted that a huge number of teenagers use tobacco products across the region.

Gachoka added that they have received information of people reportedly who are allegedly distributing free cigarettes to school going children.

Gachoka condemned the act terming as an ill-motive aimed at destroying the children's future.

Gachoka also called on the police, the department of public health and other law enforcement agencies to come in and help wipe-out the vice.

Smoking is said to be introduced to minors at the age bracket of 12 to 14 years due to early exposure in the society. Enditem
