<strong>China: National Cigarette Evaluating Meeting Held in Kunming Yunnan</strong>

On September 22 to 23, the eighth national evaluating cigarette committee some committee members evaluating meeting and Chinese style cigarette consumption experience sensory evaluation methods industry standard project kick-off meeting held in Kunming, Yunnan. Li Deyi, vice director of economic operation department of STMA, some cigarette evaluating committee members, Zhang Jianhua, Liao Mingming, vice director of technology center of China Tobacco Yunnan Industrial Corp. attended the meeting. Wu Yi, President of HongyunHonghe delivered a welcome speech in the meeting.

The meeting first discussed the standard research work of Chinese style cigarette consumption experience sensory evaluation methods. Wu Yi briefly reviewed the pre-research work of the project, and this introduced the evaluation method of group discussion. The experts agreed with method discussion, and evaluated cigarette samples according to the methods, discussed the implementation plan for future work.

Subsequently, the participating experts divided into the sensory evaluation group and smoking inspection group, and evaluated 17 representative slim cigarette, and analyzed the development situation of slim cigarette, and thought that slim cigarette market segment is accelerating formation, and presented more specifications, costliness, characterization of development trend, and thought that the national evaluation committee should play a role of technical guidance on analyzing the market trend, the consumer demand, and slim cigarette category development.

The meeting organized by Economy 0peration Department of State Tobacco Monopoly Administration, and co-organized by China Tobacco Yunnan Industrial Technology Center and HongyunHonghe Group.
