<strong>China: Yunnan Tobacco Industry Participates in the Earthquake Relief Work</strong> Source from: TobaccoChina Online 08/06/2014 ![]() The 2014 Ludian earthquake struck Ludian County, Yunnan, China, with a moment magnitude of 6.1 on 3 August, killing 398 people by 4 August. According to report the earthquake occurred 29 km (18 mi) WSW of Zhaotong city at 16:30 local time. After the earthquake, the Yunnan tobacco industry attached great importance to it, and held meeting on the first meeting, made emergency deployment on earthquake relief work, and donated 10 million yuan to the disaster area, which was sent to the affected people by Yunnan Civil Affairs Department, and Yunnan Province Charity Federation respectively. Yunnan Tobacco Monopoly Administration (company) required Zhaotong City Monopoly Administration (company) to save lives in top priority, and do our best to minimize losses caused by the earthquake. China Tobacco Yunnan Industrial Corp. required Zhaotong Cigarette of Hongta Group to fully support the disaster area relief work, and called on the whole tobacco industry to donate for the disaster area.
