<strong>China: Research Institute Opens IPR Comprehensive Service Platform</strong>

Zhengzhou Tobacco Research Institute in north central China's Henan Province has recently opened a Tobacco Industry Intellectual Property Rights Comprehensive Service Platform for trial operation, which is designed to provide comprehensive service for intellectual property rights on the part of the entire tobacco industry of China.

Built following more than three years of research under the guidance and support of the Department of Science and Technology of the State Tobacco Monopoly Administration (STMA), etc., the platform is mainly intended for providing service for the execution of major exclusive scientific and technological projects and various work of scientific and technological research by the tobacco industry, and promoting the management of intellectual property rights by tobacco manufacturing enterprises in China.

The platform is in effective integration of the various types of resources of information on intellectual property rights on the part of the tobacco industry; covers information on intellectual property rights on the part of the tobacco industry, including information on patents of the tobacco industry of China, patents of foreign tobacco industries, tobacco trademarks, tobacco copyrights, new tobacco varieties and laws and regulations on intellectual property rights; are of the functions of information retrieval, data summarization, statistical analysis, etc; and is in realization of sharing of resources of information on tobacco intellectual property rights on the part of the entire tobacco industry.
