<strong>China: STMA Reports Progress in Cyclic Use of Cigarette Packaging Cases</strong> Source from: State Tobacco Monopoly Administration 03/05/2014 ![]() The State Tobacco Monopoly Administration (STMA) issued a report on February 24 on progress in fulfillment of assignments for cyclic use of cigarette packaging cases by the tobacco industry in January, in light of the tasks for cyclic use of cigarette packaging cases for 2014, and raised requirements for work hereof over a next period of time. The report indicated that since the distribution of the Notice of the State Tobacco Monopoly Administration on Launching the Work of Cyclic Use of Cigarette Packaging Cases Among Manufacturing and Commercial Enterprises of the Tobacco Industry, the manufacturing and commercial enterprises of the tobacco industry have actively taken actions and performed duties, overcome difficulties and earnestly made implementation. As a result, the work of cyclic use of cigarette packaging cases has been universally conducted in the entire tobacco industry. In January 2014, the manufacturing and commercial enterprises of the tobacco industry in Hainan, Shanxi, Inner Mongolia, Zhejiang, Fujian, Yunnan and Anhui registered relatively rapid progress in fulfilling assignments for cyclic use of cigarette packaging cases, and relatively well completed the relevant tasks, ranking among the best in the national tobacco industry in terms of the proportion of recycling and return by commercial enterprises and progress in accomplishment of tasks by manufacturing enterprises.
