<strong>China: STMA Reports Leaf Tobacco Bases Construction Work in 2012</strong>

According to arrangement of the construction of modern tobacco agriculture base units work, and on the base units evaluation method and evaluation rules, the tobacco industry evaluated the leaf tobacco bases construction work in 2012, and all the 72 base units passed the acceptance check. On November 5, STMA reported the evaluation situation to the tobacco industry.

According to the bulletin, in 2012, the industry base units construction work achieved positive results and reached a higher level. Among them, the following base units construction work reached remarkable achievements: Sanying, Eryuan,Yunnan; Yuzhang, Xingren, Guizhou; Huilong, Mianning, Sichuan; Jiangyan, Cili, Hunan; Qifang, Zaocheng, Hubei; Gaiyang, Mingxi, Fujian; Runxi, Chongqing; and the following base units construction work achieved new breakthrough on the level of 2010: Mengma, Zhucheng, Shandong; and Jiayue.

The bulletin affirmed the achievements of industry base units construction: strengthening infrastructure construction, improving the level of base facilities unit; realizing the tobacco leaf production mode; paying attention to promote the tobacco leaf production technology innovation and integration, and enhancing the level of tobacco leaf production technology; deepening the cooperation between manufacturing and commercial sector, and perfecting brand oriented cooperation mechanism, improving the material guarantee ability; promoting infrastructure to integrated management, and improving management level of bases unit.
