Ukraine: UAH 500 Million Paid to Budget for Trading in Alcohol, Tobacco This Year

Since the year start, owners of licenses for trading in alcohol and tobacco goods have paid UAH 514 million to the budget.

The press service of the Revenues and Duties Ministry of Ukraine told Ukrinform about this.

"Since the year start, UAH 514 million was paid to the budget by owners of licenses for trading in alcohol and tobacco goods. The major part of those payments is made up of payments from holders of permits for retail sales of those products (UAH 420 million)," a statement reads.

The Revenues and Duties Ministry informed that 54 wholesale licenses were annulled and another 60 - suspended for non-payment of an excise duty. For similar violation of the law, over 17,000 retail licenses were annulled, 13,300 - suspended.

According to the Revenues and Duties Ministry, total amount of fines for the sale of alcohol and tobacco to underage children made up slightly over UAH 1 million.
