Romania Exports Beverages, Tobacco Worth over One Billion Lei in First Five Months 2013

Romania exported beverages and tobacco worth 1.017 billion lei (232.5 million euros) in the first five months of 2013, according to the data centralized by the National Institute of Statistics.

Over January-May 2-13 imports of beverages and tobacco amounted to 769.9 million lei (175.7 million euros).

Thus, in the first five months of this year, Romania had a 247.6 million lei (56.8 million euro) surplus from the international trade in beverages and tobacco.

In May 19,200 people were working in beverage production, the net average salary being 1.930 lei, and 1,600 people were working in the production of tobacco products, the net average salary being 3,300 lei. Enditem
