<strong>China Tobacco Industry Reports Cigarette Sales up Slightly in First Half Year</strong>

Cigarette Sales

During January to June in 2013, the tobacco industry produced sold 1294.35 billion cigarettes (25.887 million cases), decrease of 0.4percent, and sold 1333 billion cigarettes (26.66 million cases)compared to the same period last year. Grade one, 2 and 3 registered a higher sales volume at the first 6 months, increase 14.9%，14.1% and 4.5% respectively; sales volume of the Grade one, accounted to 18.1 percent of total sales volume in China's tobacco industry, increased by 2.2 percent year-on-year. The total sales volume of first three grades cigarettes accounted to 73.7 percent in total sales volume of China's tobacco industry, increased by 4.6 percent year-on-year.

Cigarette Inventories

At the end of June, the cigarette inventories on the part of China's tobacco industry reached 150 billion cigarettes (3.00 million cases), decrease 9.5 billion cigarettes (0.019 million cases), with the cigarette inventories of manufacturing sector at 57.65 billion cigarettes (1.153 million cases), and the cigarette inventories of commercial sector at 92.35 billion cigarettes (1.847 million cases).

Taxes and Profits

On first six months in 2013, the tobacco industry of China generated 530.35 billion yuan in taxes and profits, up 10.2 percent year-on-year.

On first six months in 2013, the taxes and profits of tobacco industry of China generated, an increase of 10.04 percent over same period of 2012; the taxes and profits of commercial sectors, an increase of 11.5 percent over same period of 2012.

Cigarette brands

On first six months in 2013, the tobacco industry of China sold 1003.15 billion cigarettes (20.063 million cases) of key brand cigarette, up 8.1 percent year-on-year, and commercial sectors generated 603.77 billion yuan in sales, up 12 percent, accounted to 90.9 percent of total sales of tobacco industry.

On first six months in 2013, the tobacco industry of China sold 789.3 billion cigarettes (15.786 million cases) of 15 key brand cigarette in first three grades, up 9.9 percent year-on-year.

On first six months in 2013, 15 key brands by sales of the tobacco industry of China generated 532.73 billion yuan in sales, up 11.8 percent year-on-year. Enditem
