<strong>Hongta-Sponsored Encirclement Chess Contest Held in Chengdu City</strong>

The Yuxi Cup 12th China Encirclement Chess Southwest Chess King Contest, exclusively sponsored by Hongta Group and named after Hongta's high-end cigarette brand of Yuxi, was held in Chengdu City of southwest China's Sichuan Province on March 8-10, with the participation of 16 players.

Besides the four teams of players from Yunnan Province, Guizhou Province, Sichuan Province and Chongqing City, the players in the contest also included champions winning previous Southwest Chess King contests such as Piao Wenyao, Wang Xi and Gu Lingyi. China's Encirclement Chess Saint Nie Weiping and World Champion Gu Li were particularly invited to participate in the contest, making the contest a big gathering of powerful players.

In an addressed delivered at the event, Gong Jinhua, vice-president of China Encirclement Chess Association and councilor with Sichuan Provincial People's Government, said that so far, 12 Southwest King Contests have been held, and the contests have been run better and better, mainly as a result of great importance attached by leaders with competent authorities, great care by friends from news media and persistent support by Hongta Group in the capacity of a leading tobacco manufacturer of China's tobacco industry.

At the prize issuing ceremony, Gong Jinhua and Hongta Deputy CEO Wang Yong jointly granted the prize to the champion winning the current contest. Hua Yigang, vice-president of China Encirclement Chess Association granted the prize to the runner-up.
