Outstanding US Tobacco Taster Prefers Habano Cigars

Habano cigars prevail in the list of the Top 10 (2012) corresponding to Best Premium Cigar of the World, made by the outstanding US specialist in tobacco and wines, James Suckling. Suckling said that he smoked wonderful Cuban cigars in the previous year, and after those tasting sessions he considered that the quality of the Habanos is excellent at the present time.

He attributed that effectiveness to a reduction of the production of such specialties in benefit of the quality, in addition to a strong control of the attributes of the leaves.

Among the Best Premium of the World, he mentioned Limited Edition Montecristo 520 2012 Limited Edition in first position; followed by the Partagás Series C no. 3 Limited Edition 2012and the Cohiba Behike 56.

In the list, sent to Prensa Latina, there are also the Cohiba 1966 Limited Edition 2011, Cohiba Pyramid, Montecristo No.2, and Humidor Trinidad 40th Anniversary.

Other blessed original brands in the list are: The Escepción Selectos Finos Edizione Regionale Italy 2011 (fourth position), Edmundo Dantes Conde 54 Regional Edition Mexico (ninth), and Davidoff Sunday Perignonm (tenth).

He said that he compared the quality of the Habanos with other original brands and for it he tasted 28 cigars from Cuba, 25 of them with the category of 90 points or more.

While tasting, Suckling evaluated a wide sample of tobacco cigars from Cuba, Dominican Republic, Nicaragua and Honduras.
 
As part of his notes, he mentioned the Cuban productions under Limited Editions, between the best things smoked by the specialist in 2012. Elite Cuban line Behike was also well valued by the expert.

James Suckling (California, United States, 1958), is a critic and specialistic in wines and was the Senior Editor and head of the European bureau for the Wine Spectator magazine, and also European publishing editor of the publication Cigar Aficionado, one of the most famous in the world.
