US: One in Three Smokers Resolves to Quit Source from: Tobacco Journal 01/10/2013 A poll released by the tobacco education foundation Legacy shows 34 per cent of adult smokers surveyed resolved to quit smoking in 2013. Two thirds of respondents said increasing cost of cigarettes played a role in their decisions and 58 per cent cited health risks. The poll was conducted online between 26 Nov and 5 Dec with 1,552 respondents who said they have smoked at least 100 cigarettes in their lifetime and smoke at least occasionally, Legacy said.
