China: Raw Materials Department of HongyunHonghe Holds Summing-up Meeting

The Raw Materials Department of HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group in southwest China’s tobacco-producing Yunnan Province – the largest Chinese tobacco manufacturer – held in Qujing City of Yunnan on December 13 a meeting to sum up the work of raw materials procurement and supply in 2012.

Through objective analysis of the economic operation of HongyunHonghe in the first 11 months of 2012, HongyunHonghe Deputy CEO Gu Hong fully affirmed the achievements made in the work of raw materials procurement and supply in 2012, and put forward requirements for the work of raw materials management by HongyunHonghe in 2013.

Gu required the Raw Materials Department to further innovate advantages in raw materials procurement and supply in the following five respects, closely in accordance with the “5118” brands development strategy of HongyunHonghe, with satisfaction of the demand of HongyunHonghe for developing key competitive cigarette brands as the orientation, and in keeping with the general working guideline of “stabilizing the total quantity, optimizing the structure, attaching importance to use and increasing value”:

Firstly, efforts shall be made to further consolidate the basis for developing exclusive high-quality raw materials production and supply bases and to promote the construction of exclusive high-quality raw materials production and supply bases to higher levels.

Secondly, efforts shall be made to further consolidate the basis for doing scientific-technological research work and to promote the application of resources of raw materials to higher levels.

Thirdly, efforts shall be made to further do a good job building tobacco farmsteads in order to develop exclusive bases for the development of high-end cigarette brands.

Fourthly, efforts shall be made to further fight for resources of raw materials to satisfy the demand of HongyunHonghe for the development of competitive cigarette brands.

And fifthly, efforts shall be made to further top potential for development and well manage implementation of the various items of work for the next year, in jointly promoting the work of guaranteeing the procurement and supply of raw materials for HongyunHonghe to higher levels. Enditem
