China: Cigarette Aroma Enhancing, Moisturizing Joint Laboratory Inaugurated

A grant ceremony was held in Zhengzhou City of central China's Henan Province on December 6 to inaugurate a newly built "Golden Leaf" brand cigarette aroma enhancing and moisturizing joint laboratory co-established by China Tobacco Henan Industrial Co., Ltd. and Zhengzhou Tobacco Research Institute in the province.

The dignitaries attending the inaugural ceremony included Chen Xuefeng, deputy governor of Henan Province, Yang Ziye, China Tobacco Henan Industrial Co., Ltd. Communist Party group secretary and general manager, Yan Yaming, Zhengzhou Tobacco Research Institute Communist Party group secretary and president, and Li Mengshun, Henan Provincial Tobacco Monopoly Administration Communist Party group secretary and legal representative, as well as relevant leaders and experts of the general office of Henan Provincial People's Government, the Development and Reform Commission, the Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, the Bureau of Public Security, the Bureau of Finance, the Bureau of Water Conservation, the Bureau of Commerce, the Local Tax Bureau, the National Tax Bureau, the Bureau for Industry and Commerce and the Tobacco Monopoly Administration of Henan Province and Zhengzhou Tobacco Research Institute.

In particular, Yang Ziye and Yan Yaming respectively delivered speeches at the ceremony.

During an inspection at China Tobacco Henan Industrial Co., Ltd. on the sidelines of the ceremony, Chen Xuefeng and his entourage respectively visited Zhengzhou Cigarette Factory and the technology center of China Tobacco Henan Industrial Co., Ltd. and the site of joint relocation and technological transformation of Xinzheng and Zhengzhou Cigarette Factories, asking in detail about cigarette production, quality control, mechanisms for the development of scientific-technological research human resources, construction of projects, etc, and fully affirming lean production and precision management of the Golden Leaf brand high-quality leaf tobacco, particularly such successful approaches as the adoption of the SPC technology.

In his speech delivered at the ceremony, Yang Ziye pointed out that over recent years, China Tobacco Henan Industrial Co., Ltd., by means of industrial agglomeration, powerful capacity of scientific-technological research and the capacity of producing highly aromatic leaf tobacco with distinctive characteristics on the part of the tobacco industry of Henan, has succeeded in promoting sustained and rapid development of the Golden Leaf brand high-quality leaf tobacco products.

Cigarette aroma enhancement and moisturizing is not only a major exclusive project of the tobacco industry, but also means the development of crucial technology for improving the quality of cigarettes and promoting the physical moisturizing function of cigarettes.

Cooperation between China Tobacco Henan Industrial Co., Ltd. and Zhengzhou Tobacco Research Institute in the capacity as two powerful entities in establishing the "Golden Leaf" brand cigarette aroma enhancing and moisturizing joint laboratory is of great significance to further strengthening cooperation between research institutes and manufacturing enterprises, applying strategies for driving development with brands and innovation, and accelerating the process of realizing breakthrough in central China by the time-honored "Golden Leaf" cigarette brand family.
