In Kyrgyzstan, Alcohol and Tobacco Always Pass Customs by – Iskhak Masaliyev

"In Kyrgyzstan, alcohol and tobacco always pass customs by," Iskhak Masaliyev, chairman of the Kyrgyz State Revenue Service, stated at today's meeting.

According to him, tobacco manufacturers have not fulfilled the plan for 2012. "We expected 3 billion cigarettes would be produced, but as of today only one billion was made. At the same time the import of cigarettes increased. The total trade volume retained. But the state is more profitable when the products are manufactured in the country," Iskhak Masaliyev explained.

He noted, the plan for alcohol production has been fulfilled. "I always tell taxmen they shouldn't be engaged in extortion and should collect money for their leadership. We should work honestly, so that the budget receives the funds," Mr. Masaliyev stressed. Enditem
