Kenya: Economy Losing 2.1 Billion to Illicit Tobacco Trade Annually

We lose Sh 2.1 billion annually to illicit tobacco trade. Francis Nyagah from the British American Tobacco says of this the government loses Sh 1.25 billion in tax money, while manufacturers and suppliers lose the rest. He says the illicit trade is thriving due to increased taxes, lack of proper law enforcement, light penalties among others. Enditem
