Cigarette Retailers' Association Established in Chinese City

A Cigarette Retailers' Association was established in Hengyang City of south central China's Hunan Province on April 28 in a move to strengthen the link between cigarette retailers in the city and Hengyang City Tobacco Company. Under the leadership of Hengyang City Tobacco Company, Hengyang City Cigarette Retailers' Association will take charge of the business of cigarette retail in the city. Upon its establishment, the Cigarette Retailers' Association has admitted 10,366 members who are mainly cigarette retailers in Hengyang and managers of the businesses of tobacco production and trade in the city. The operation of Hengyang City Cigarette Retailers Association covers the 12 counties, towns and districts in Hengyang, and each of the counties, towns or districts has a representative office of the association. Besides, 170 groups of members have been created under the association to take charge of cigarette distribution and relevant services locally. The establishment of the Cigarette Retailers Association will contribute to further strengthening the relationship between Hengyang City Tobacco Company and local cigarette retailers, increasing the awareness of cigarette retailers in the city about the observation of law and regulations as well as rules for profit-making, promoting a civilized way of trading and improvement of their services, and better regulating the order of cigarette markets in the city.
