Montecristo Cigar Bar Coming To Vegas

Sin City is getting another high-profile cigar bar. Cigar Aficionado has learned that a Montecristo Cigar Bar is under construction at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas with a targeted opening set for March.

Michael Frey's Malecon Tobacco is one of the companies behind the project. "It will have a very contemporary feel," said Frey. The cigar bar is being designed by the Rockwell Group, which also did the Nobu restaurant in Caesars.

"We're excited to be working with Michael Frey on such an exciting, high-end project," said Janelle Rosenfeld, vice president of marketing for Altadis U.S.A.

Frey said the new cigar bar will offer a light menu of charcuterie, cheese plates and other items. The bar will also feature gaming machines (video poker and slots) and a full bar focusing on high-end Bourbon, Scotch and cocktails. The cigar store will be stocked with various premium cigars, not just those bearing the Montecristo brand name.

The Montecristo Cigar Bar will be Frey's second cigar bar in Caesars-he owns the well-known Casa Fuente, located in the Forum Shops. The Montecristo Cigar Bar will be a short walk away, near the Old Homestead Steak House and next door to Cleopatra's Barge.

Last fall, the Davidoff Cigar Bar opened on the Las Vegas strip. Enditem
