New Rocky Patel Cigars Ship Next Week

Boxes of Rocky Patel's new Super Ligero and Decade Cameroon cigars are sitting in a warehouse in Bonita Springs, Florida. By next week, they'll be at your local cigar store.

Attendees of this year's IPCPR trade show got to sample the Rocky Patel Decade Cameroon and the Super Ligero in July, but soon the smoking public will be able to try these interesting, and stylistically different, new smokes.

Fans of strong cigars will naturally gravitate towards the Super Ligero, as it was blended to be the most full-bodied smoke that Rocky Patel has released in years. The blend draws its power from a combination of Cuban-seed Honduran San Agustín wrapper and Costa Rican ligero tobacco that Rocky Patel says is proprietary to the company.

The bold lettering and oversized band are good indicators of the hearty blend, but the price comes in relatively low, as no cigar in the line retails for more than $8.00. It comes in four sizes: Robusto, 5 inches by 50 ring gauge; Toro, 6 1/2 by 52; Sixty, 6 by 60; and Lancero, 7 1/2 by 38.

Rocky has also done a mash-up of sorts by taking his original Rocky Patel Decade blend of Nicaraguan tobacco and putting a Cameroon wrapper around it. The result is the Rocky Patel Decade Cameroon, a reimagined line that retails from $9.75 to $11.25. This line comes in only three sizes: Robusto, 5 by 50; Toro, 6 1/2 by 52 and Torpedo, 6 1/2 by 52.

Both the Rocky Patel Super Ligero and Decade Cameroon are packaged in boxes of 20 and made in Honduras at Nestor Plasencia's El Paraiso Factory. Enditem
