Joya de Nicaragua Expands Internationally Source from: cigaraficionado 09/16/2014 Joya de Nicaragua continues to add to its international reach. In the past 15 days, it has forged new relationships with distributors in Canada and Germany, two of the 36 countries around the globe where the brand is sold. Beginning on Friday, Joya de Nicaragua cigars will be distributed in Germany by Arnold André GmbH & Co. KG, a producer of cigars and cigarillos. Previously, Joya de Nicaragua cigars had been distributed in Germany by Villiger Söhne GmbH, the Swiss company famous for its machine-made cigars. On September 1, Joya de Nicaragua joined with House of Horvath Inc. to distribute cigars in Canada. Joya de Nicaragua cigars have been sold there (via Hinds Brothers) since 1998. Founded in 1968, Joya de Nicaragua is not only one of the elder brands of the non-Cuban cigar world, but it has long been a pioneer in selling cigars in markets other than the United States. While most Nicaraguan, Dominican and Honduran cigarmakers have focused the lion's share of their efforts on American sales, Joya has long looked to foreign markets. "Germany has been one of our company's most important markets for many decades," said Joya de Nicaragua owner Alejandro Martinez Cuenca. "It is with great pride that we begin a new phase of growth hand-by-hand with Arnold André, a company in which we have found the ideal partner to help us deliver enjoyment to more German consumers." Joya de Nicaragua makes a host of premium cigars, including the Joya de Nicaragua Cuatro Cinco, which scored 90 points in the June issue of Cigar Aficionado magazine. Enditem |
