blu eCigs to Make Travel Retail Debut at WHSmith Stores in UK Airports

US electronic cigarettes brand blu eCigs will be available in the UK travel retail and domestic markets from the end of June.

The new blu eCigs range will be sold at WHSmith stores in airports and at 12,000 retail outlets throughout the UK.

There are no further travel retail locations planned at this point but the company hopes to expand the number of outlets through its sales force of 70.

The range features two rechargeable kits: the blu Starter Kit and the blu Premium Kit. Both are available in Classic Tobacco and Menthol. The blu Premium Kit includes a rechargeable case and batteries, USB cable and three cartidge refills. The blu Starter Kit also includes a case, batteries and USB charger but only has two cartridge refills.

Cartridge refills are available in a variety of flavours, including Classic Tobacco, Tobocco Gold, Rich Tobacco, Menthol, Cherry, Cinnamon and Vanilla. Each flavour corresponds with a different colour on the black packaging.

The product line also includes disposable e-cigarettes in Classic Tobacco, Menthol, Cherry and NRG flavours alongside different charging accessories.

Featuring a minimalist, sleek black design, blu e-cigarettes do not look like traditional cigarettes. They have a bright blue light at the end of the cigarette bearing the blu triangular logo that glows every time the user draws on the device.

The e-cigarettes do not emit any lingering odours to allow 'vapers' to enjoy their e-cigarettes without any smoke odour.

blu eCigs Chief Executive Officer Jacob Fuller said: "We are extremely excited to launch the blu eCigs brand in the UK, offering an alternative and positive lifestyle choice for adult smokers. The blu brand stands for pride and offers customers the best e-cigarette experience available with today's technology."

He added: "We will bring added value to our customers and provide excellent category expertise to help drive sales for our partners. We plan to replicate the success of the blu brand in the USA which, with similar levels of funding, shot from a turnover of $18 million to $250 million in just a year."

Products in the blu eCigs range are priced from £14.99 for a rechargeable kit, £5.99 for cartridge refills, £5.99 for disposable e-cigarettes and £4.99 for charging accessories. Enditem
