Imperial Tobacco Limited Selects Galleria''s Behavioral Cluster Planning Solution to Cluster Stores

Galleria Retail Technology Solutions, the leading provider of retail and category planning, automation and optimization solutions, today announced that Imperial Tobacco Limited, the UK arm of leading international tobacco manufacturer, Imperial Tobacco Group plc, has chosen Galleria to enhance its merchandising strategy to improve the customer experience and enhance relationships with its retailer partners. The solution enables manufacturers, vendors and retailers to optimize sales by clustering stores based on product performance data such as historic sales, market and customer information.

Utilizing Galleria's automated application, Imperial Tobacco will cluster stores based on product and category performance. Through a combination of bottom-up and top-down methodologies, the solution accounts for critical factors including local demographics, sales patterns, store sizes and store locations. This intelligent, analytical process will enable Imperial Tobacco to determine the optimal amount of clusters for its retail partners' stores to ensure the benefits of localization are balanced against the costs of implementation. In addition, the ease and scalability of the solution will allow Imperial Tobacco to perform a complete category cluster analysis within hours.

"Imperial Tobacco's decision to adopt dedicated technology demonstrates that vendors are investing in solutions to help them to compete in an increasingly competitive market," states Ian Duncan-Lewis, Chief Executive Officer, Galleria. "Not only will the solution provide key, actionable insights, but Imperial Tobacco will also provide its retailer partners with the optimal and credible recommendations to ensure enhanced relationships."

"We are delighted to welcome Imperial Tobacco Limited as a partner and look forward to building a healthy relationship in the future," Duncan-Lewis added. Enditem
