Hungary: Family of Felcsút Mayor Won Several Tobacco Licences, Report Says

The family of Lőrinc Mészáros, mayor of Felcsút, birthplace of Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, has won several tobacco kiosk licences to be operated at retail chain Auchan, Népszabadság reports.

The monthly turnover in such kiosks is an estimated Ft 20-30 million, which may rise due to the impending retail monopoly.

The mayor's son János won the concessions for Auchan tobacco outlets in Budakalász, Budaörs, the 11th District, Kecskemét and Szeged.

The 25-year-old son of deputy mayor László Mészáros will control the Auchan kiosks in Csömör, Dunakeszi, Fót, Törökbálint and Miskolc.
