US: Electronic Cigarette Wholesaler to Open Centerville Retail Store

An electronic cigarette wholesaler is getting into the retail business with a new space in Centerville.

Louis Wen, owner of Mid-State Merchandise, is moving into a 1,200-square-foot space in Centerville Place shopping center, adjacent to the new Kroger Marketplace.

Wen said many of his customers have wanted to be able to see the products before buying them, so he decided to move into a retail location in order to expand. He is currently located in an office on Yankee Street.

Wen said he plans to open in April, and will man the retail store from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and noon to 5 p.m. on weekends. But his main focus will still be the wholesale business, where he ships to retailers throughout the state.

Dayton does not have a lot of options for purchasing electronic cigarettes, Wen said. Some shoppers currently drive as far as Traders World in Lebanon in order to pick out the products they want, he said.
