Fewer Tobacco Products Outlets in Finland

May 21, 2012-The number of retail outlets offering tobacco products in Finland has fallen to one third of what it was before such sales became subject to a license in April 2009, according to a Turun Sanomat story. In 2008, there were an estimated 30,000-40,000 outlets selling tobacco, but now there are about 11,000. According to the Finnish Hospitality Association, MaRa, about half of the country's restaurants gave up tobacco sales since such sales had been mainly a customer service as far as restaurants were concerned. As of the beginning of this year, tobacco products have had to be put out of sight in shops and restaurants.Enditem
