So far this year, China Tobacco Chuanyu Industrial Corporation has exported 356,000 cigars to Thailand, Hong Kong and Macao. Besides, it has achieved positive progress in cooperation with trade partners in The Netherlands and other countries, with export contracts expected to be signed in the near future.
In developing international markets, China Tobacco Chuanyu Industrial Corporation has over recent years strengthened efforts for the development of serial cigar products destined for international markets, successively developing or transforming 13 export-oriented cigar products, and has developed four cigar products jointly with Agio of The Netherlands. Moreover, the corporation has started the process of developing cigar products intended for markets in Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, Vietnam and Cambodia.
At the same time, China Tobacco Chuanyu Industrial Corporation, in executing the project of relocation and technological transformation of its subordinate Great Wall Cigar Factory, has introduced advanced cigar making equipment, contributing to greatly promoting its cigar production capacity to a higher level, raising its production efficiency, improving the quality of its products, and enhancing competitiveness of its cigar products at international markets.
In efforts to guarantee the supply of high-quality raw materials for cigar production, China Tobacco Chuanyu Industrial Corporation has continued to step up the import of high-quality leaf tobacco from Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Brazil and other countries. Meanwhile, it has established four exclusive high-quality leaf tobacco production and supply bases in China, including one in south China's Hainan Province, which has led to the accumulation of high-quality raw materials for its cigar production, reduction of its costs of leaf tobacco purchase, and enhancing the competitiveness of its cigar products at international markets.
