New Distribution Center for Sichuan Source from: tobaccoreporter.com Thursday, September 14, 2006 09/15/2006 ![]() Yuan400 million is to be spent building a cigarette distribution center at Chengdu, the provincial capital of China's Sichuan province, according to a report in the Chengdu Daily.
Construction, for which a contract was signed recently, is expected to be completed next year.
The center will include storage facilities capable of holding a minimum of three billion cigarettes, along with supply and distribution facilities able to handle 20 billion cigarettes annually. It will become a center for cigarette trading information and marketing management.
The center will generate annual sales worth Yuan5 billion and annual taxes and profits of Yuan1 billion.
It is planned that the center, which will initially cover all of the 20 districts of Chengdu City and other parts of Sichuan, will eventually become a provincial-level cigarette supply and distribution facility. Enditem
