Maoda - a famous cigar brand of Wuhan Tobacco Group in central China's Hubei Province - was rated as China's No. 1 cigar brand at the 3rd annual meeting of the Summit Forum of Brands Satisfactory to Consumers in China Market held in Beijing on July 2. The 3rd annual meeting of the Summit Forum of Brands Satisfactory to Consumers in China Market was held by the Market Information Center of the People's Daily newspaper in association with China Corporate Culture Promotion Council, and was sponsored by more than 100 industrial associations including China Textile Industry Association and China Logistics and Purchase Union. Since January 1, 2004, the Market Information Center of the People's Daily newspaper - an authoritative market survey and market information release agency in China - has regularly conducted nationwide market surveys to determine brands most favored by Chinese consumers. The market survey for rating Maoda as the No. 1 cigar brand in China lasted more than one year and covered questionnaires on consumers in more than 30 Chinese provinces, autonomous regions and provincial-level municipalities. Maoda won the rating on the basis of recommendation by consumers. Wuhan Tobacco Group is one of the 36 key Chinese tobacco manufacturers designated by the State Tobacco Monopoly Administration.
