Hongta Group Develops New Blend-Type Cigarette Product

Hongta Group-the largest tobacco manufacturer in China-has developed a new blend-type cigarette product, known as Black-Cover Blend-Type Hongtashan. In May, Black-Cover Blend-Type Hongtashan firstly went on duty-free markets in southeast Asia through the Asia-Pacific Tax Free World Association Asia Pacific Exhibition, or better known as TFWA Asia Pacific 2004, in Singapore. Hongta Group Board of Directors Chairman Liu Wandong led a delegation to the exhibition. Hongta developed Black-Cover Blend-Type Hongtashan in accordance with the results of market surveys conducted by agents for the tobacco manufacturer. Presently, sales promotion of the new blend-type cigarettes is conducted under the name of Junhuang (Monarch) featuring the great value of the Hongtashan brand, according to Hongta Group. Hongta Group started the development of Black-Cover Blend-Type Hongtashan in 2003, using choicest raw materials including high-quality leaf tobacco, new technologies, a fine blending formula and a new packaging design. As a result, the new blend-type cigarette product has been well received by consumers since going on the market. According to Liu, Hongta Group chose Southeast Asia as the first market area of Black-Cover Blend-Type Hongtashan in consideration of the fact that Hongtashan has been highly popular in this region. Hongta's target to this effect is to satisfy the consumers with a high-quality new product with a lower content of tar and other harmful substances, Liu said. Hongta Group has designated Hong Kong Yinji International Development Co. as the sole agent of Black-Cover Blend-Type Hongtashan. Liang Guoxing, Board of Directors Chairman of Hong Kong Yinji International Development Co., said that Hongtashan is a most credible cigarette brand in China and Southeast Asia. As China is opening wider to the outside world, business travels, visits and other forms of personnel exchanges between China and the rest of the world will keep growing, and Black-Cover Blend-Type Hongtashan is expected to become a highly profitable commodity in such personnel exchanges.
