Gurkha Pan American En Route To IPCPR In A Steel And Leather Box

Packaged in a box that Gurkha calls "Indiana Jones meets Mad Max," the upcoming Pan American cigar brand will be showcased in a few weeks at the IPCPR trade show in Las Vegas. The steel-and-leather box holds 25 Gurkha Pan American cigars in the company's 6 inch by 60 ring gauge XO size. It's rolled with an Ecuadoran Connecticut wrapper around Nicaraguan binder and filler tobacco.

According to brand owner Kaizad Hansotia, he got the idea for this cigar when traveling on the Pan American highway in Nicaragua. He wanted to bring back the heritage of the vintage steamer trunks used in the 1920s when railroad and steamship travel was the common mode of transportation.

Gurkha is keeping the boxes under wraps until the trade show.

Gurkha Pan American comes in only one size and carries a suggested retail price of $9.50 each. They are made at the American Caribbean factory in EstelĂ, Nicaragua. Enditem
