Espinosa Releasing Connecticut-Wrapped Cigar Source from: Cigar Aficionado 05/26/2016 Epsinosa Premium Cigars will be introducing a Connecticut-wrapped line this summer called Espinosa Crema. Made with Nicaraguan binders and fillers, the cigar is defined by its Connecticut-seed wrapper, which was grown in Ecuador. This marks the first Connecticut-wrapped cigar bearing the Espinosa name. "We strive to appeal to every segment of the cigar market," said Hector J. Alfonso, operations manager for the La Zona factory in Nicaragua, where Espinosa cigars are made. "The cigars in our portfolio are medium bodied to medium-full. We wanted a gateway cigar for those who are looking to try Espinosa cigars for the first time." The smokes will retail between $8 and $9 and come in three sizes: Robusto, measuring 5 1/2 inches by 52 ring; Toro Grande, 6 by 56; and Churchill, 7 by 48. Brand owner Erik Espinosa began developing the blend for Espinosa Crema last year and finalized it in November. Production commenced in January as soon as the factories re-opened after the holidays. The brand should be officially released at the summer's upcoming International Premium Cigars & Pipe Retailers trade show, but Espinosa has not ruled out the possibility of a soft, limited launch at a few select retailers before the show. The company produces a value-brand Connecticut-wrapped cigar under its La Zona label, but Espinosa assures that it's a completely different blend from the Espinosa Crema. Enditem
