Warped To Launch Maestro Del Tiempo At IPCPR

Patience pays off, or so says Warped Cigars owner Kyle Gellis regarding his latest cigar creation, Maestro del Tiempo, or Master of Time. Gellis says the Nicaraguan puro took years to create and the process of perfecting the blend taught him to embrace the passage of time.

"I wanted to do this brand for a long time and it took that much time to get the blend down, through so many revisions, farm and lot changes, et cetera," Gellis said. "In this industry time is something you need to be very at peace with and embrace because it takes a lot of time and patience to create a blend from the ground up. I was waiting to create this project so much that I just mastered time and learned how to embrace its length."

Maestro del Tiempo will debut later this year at the International Premium Cigar and Pipe Retailers trade show in Las Vegas, Nevada. The cigar wears a Corojo '99 Clara wrapper from Jalapa, binder leaf from Condega and fillers composed of both Criollo '98 and Corojo '99 tobaccos. The cigar will come in two regular-production sizes and one limited-edition IPCPR special.

The regular core line sizes are 5205, measuring 6 3/8 inches by 42 ring; and 5712, at 4 1/2 inches by 52. The cigars will ship in 25-count boxes.

The third, limited-edition size, designated 6102R, measures 5 1/4 by 48 and will launch as an IPCPR trade show exclusive. Only retailers who attend the trade show will be able to order this vitola, which comes packaged in 100-count cabinets. Only 150 cabinets will be released. The blend of the 6102R also differs from the regular production Maestro del Tiempo, with some medio tiempo leaf from Estelí incorporated into the blend.

When asked about the meaning behind the numeric names of the three vitolas (5205, 5712 and 6102R) Gellis said, "While they have meaning it's something we are keeping to ourselves."

Made exclusively from Aganorsa tobacco, Maestro del Tiempo is rolled in Nicaragua at Tabacos Valle de Jalapa S.A., commonly referred to as TABSA. Suggested retail prices have been set at $8.99 and $9.65 for the core sizes, $10.50 for the IPCPR special. Enditem
