Drew Estate To Distribute Debonaire, Indian Motorcycle Cigars

Drew Estate will soon become the exclusive U.S. distributor of premium cigar brands Indian Motorcycle and Debonaire. The partnership will begin in the second quarter of this year, but the official dates are still being finalized.

Indian Motorcycle and Debonaire are both owned by Philip Zanghi, who helped start the Indian Tabac Cigar Co. (now Rocky Patel Premium Cigars) about 20 years ago before segueing into the machine-made side of the cigar business. In October 2012, Debonaire cigars hit the market in three sizes under the distribution company Debonaire House, marking his return to the premium cigar industry. He would add two more sizes to Debonaire the following year, with a sixth size tacked on in 2014.

Produced at Augusto Reyes's De Los Reyes (formerly known as CorporaciĆ³n Cigar Export S.R.L.) in the Dominican Republic, Debonaire has made inroads with retailers across the country. In a Cigar Insider vertical brand tasting, the Debonaire line averaged 88 points, with the Toro scoring 90 points.

At last year's International Premium Cigars & Pipe Retailer's trade show, Zanghi introduced Indian Motorcycle, a line of premium cigars that are emblazoned with the same logo found on the famous motorcycle.

"This new partnership, our two businesses working together as a team, is all about friendship," Zanghi told Cigar Aficionado. "The time is right for Debonaire House to officially join the Drew Estate family. I've had a close friendship with [Drew Estate co-founder] Jonathan [Drew] that has spanned 20 years and I'm excited to be working with him."

Drew Estate is owned by Swisher International Inc., which acquired the company in 2014. Enditem
