Gurkha Cellar Reserve Platinum Edition Shipping Next Week

Boxes of Gurkha's new Cellar Reserve Platinum Edition cigars are sitting in the company's Florida warehouse and will start shipping to retailers early next week. It's the newest version of Gurkha's Cellar Reserve series, and features Nicaraguan tobacco in its blend-a first for the Cellar Reserve.

Made in Nicaragua at the American Caribbean Cigars factory, Cellar Reserve Platinums come in three sizes: Solara, a 5 inch by 58 ring perfecto; Hedonism, a larger 6 by 68 perfecto; and Kraken, a 6 by 60, traditional round parejo. They have suggested retail prices from $7.99 to $9.99, and come in 20-count crate-like boxes painted a glossy shade of platinum.

The Platinum Edition is rolled with an Ecuadoran wrapper, a Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan filler, some of which the company claims is up to 12 years old. It's also the fourth installment of Gurkha's Cellar Reserve series. The first came out in 2012 as a Dominican puro. The Cellar Reserve Limitada followed in 2014 with a Brazilian maduro wrapper and the Reserve Edicion Especial boasted tobaccos up to 18 years old. Enditem
