Punch Signature Details Revealed Source from: Cigar Aficionado 03/17/2015 When news of General Cigar's Punch Signature first broke, complete details about the brand were still kept quiet. Now that Punch Signature has launched, the particulars of the cigar are available. Created by Agustin Garcia, master blender at General Cigar's Honduran factory (Scandinavian Tobacco Group, DanlĂ), development of the blend started in 2012 when Garcia began cultivating a special Cuban-seed Corojo wrapper grown in Ecuador exclusively for this project. Garcia and his team also chose a proprietary Connecticut Habano binder (grown in the microclimate of the Connecticut River Valley), and a filler combination of tobaccos of various ages from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. Punch Signature comes in four sizes: Robusto, 5 inches by 54 ring ($6.79); Gigante, 6 by 60 ($7.39); Rothschild, 4 1/2 by 50 ($5.39); and Torpedo, 5 3/4 by 52 ($6.99). The cigar features vintage typefaces and design elements from the original Punch line, back when it debuted in the 1800s. Enditem |
