Quesada Releasing New Casa Magna D. Magnus II Cigars Source from: Cigar Aficionado 12/22/2014 Come next month, Quesada cigars will be ushering in the reign of a new Caesar: the Casa Magna D. Magnus II Trajan, a cigar named after the Roman emperor whose rule saw Rome's greatest territorial expansion. Trajan was part of a group historically known as the Five Good Emperors. Compare that to Quesada's previous D. Magnus II releases-Caligula and Tiberius-both known for treachery and corruption and part of the 12 Caesars. "We are creating three sizes named after the three best known of the Five Good Emperors," said Terence Reilly of Quesada Cigars. "Those three were the ones primarily responsible for the period of good governance and prosperity. The purpose of the Three Good Emperors series is to celebrate our 5th year producing the D. Magnus brand." The Trajan will measure 5 1/2 inches by 60 ring and retail for $8.50 each. One of its distinguishing characteristics is its appearance: Trajan is flatly pressed on one side and round on the rest so that the foot resembles the letter D. Like the rest of the D. Magnus II line, the pigtailed cigar is made of only Nicaraguan tobacco. The two more Good Emperors are scheduled for release in the spring-Hadrian and Marcus Aurelius. Enditem |
