Davidoff Unveils New Winston Churchill Line

Davidoff of Geneva unveiled its new line of cigars, dubbed the Davidoff Winston Churchill, at an exclusive prelaunch event last night in New York City. The line is a complete overhaul of an existing Davidoff property introduced in 2007, previously known as the Winston Churchill. The company is in the process of retiring the old cigar, allowing current stock to expire and make way for the relaunched brand with its new blend and packaging.

With a planned release for February, the new Davidoff Winston Churchill features five filler tobaccos (three from the Dominican Republic and two from Nicaragua), a binder from Mexico and an Ecuadoran wrapper. The line will debut in four sizes: Churchill, 6 7/8 inches by 47 ring gauge; Toro, 6 by 54; Robusto, 5 1/4 by 52; and Petit Corona, 4 1/2 by 41.

Two more sizes are set to launch this summer: Petit Panetela (4 inches by 38 ring gauge) and Belicoso (4 1/2 by 46).

Although pricing has not yet been finalized on the Davidoff Winston Churchill range, Richard Krutick, director of marketing for Davidoff of Geneva USA, tells Cigar Aficionado that it will closely resemble Davidoff Nicaragua pricing, which is $10-$18. Enditem
