Reynolds Changes Pall Mall Packaging

R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. said Friday it is changing the packaging of its Pall Mall cigarette brand to offer "a more contemporary look."

The change is scheduled to begin next week, and the change affects packs and cartons. "The upgraded packaging will reflect the current color theme of styles, now with a more premium and relevant design," spokesman Richard Smith said.

Pall Mall is the No. 4 brand in the United States, trailing Marlboro, Newport and – just barely -- Camel. It also is the top-selling U.S. brand in the value category.

Specific timing of the packaging transition depends on existing inventories, Smith said. Enditem
