<strong>China: Famous Cigarette Brands of Yunnan Rank among Top 500</strong>

Four famous cigarette brands of southwest China's tobacco-producing Yunnan Province – Hongtashan and Yuxi of Hongta Tobacco Group and Yunyan and Honghe of HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group – were ranked among the Top 500 Well-Known Chinese Trademarks and Brands in Terms of Value for the year 2013.

The ranking of the Top 500 was jointly sponsored and promulgated by the Brands Observation magazine and China Brand Research Institute recently.

Besides the four cigarette brands, the famous Yunnan Baiyao (farinaceous) brand of Yunnan was also ranked among the Top 500. In total, the five famous brands of Yunnan were valued at 175.834 billion yuan (28.4 billion U.S. dollars), with the average single-brand value standing at 35.1668 billion yuan (5.67 billion U.S. dollars).

Of the five famous brands of Yunnan, Hongtashan took the first place with 53.062 billion yuan (8.56 billion U.S. dollars) in value. It was ranked at the 34th place among the Top 500. As far as the rankings of the other four are concerned, Yuxi was valued at 46.026 billion yuan (7.43 billion U.S. dollars), and was ranked at the 31st place among the Top 500; Yunnan Baiyao (farinaceous) was valued at 36.256 billion yuan (5.85 billion U.S. dollars), and was ranked at the 41st place among the Top 500; Yunyan was valued at 30.651 billion yuan (4.94 billion U.S. dollars), and was ranked at the 55th place among the Top 500; and YHonghe was valued at 9.839 billion yuan (1.59 billion U.S. dollars), and was ranked at the 208th place among the Top 500.
