China: HongyunHonghe Presents New Cigarette Product to Markets in Neighboring Region

HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group in southwest China's tobacco-producing Yunnan Province - the largest Chinese tobacco manufacturer - has recently presented a new cigarette product of its famous competitive Yunyan brand family, known as Yunyan (Dachongjiu), to markets in the neighboring Chongqing City.
On March 2, HongyunHonghe held the first appraisal fair of Yunyan (Dachongjiu) in Chongqing City shortly after the Spring Festival season of the current Chinese lunar new of the Dragon.

Jointly witnessing the presentation of Yunyan (Dachongjiu) to markets in Chongqing City were Chongqing City Tobacco Monopoly Administration General Manager Li Enhua and Deputy General Manager Gao Xinghua, district chiefs of the tobacco industry of Chongqing, high-end retailers and representatives of consumers. Also present at the appraisal fair were HongyunHonghe leaders Wu Yi, Xu Liwei and Feng Bin as well as leaders of the relevant departments of HongyunHonghe including the marketing center.
In an address delivered at the appraisal fair, HongyunHonghe CEO Wu Yi introduced characteristics of Yunyan (Dachongjiu) cigarettes. He said that the development of Yunyan (Dachongjiu) was a new achievement of HongyunHonghe in its endeavor to promote cigarette production to a higher level, and that it was a classic product collected into the "tobacco manor" of Yunyan representing the highest level of this cigarette brand family.
Yunyan (Dachongjiu) is of the stylistic characteristics of clearness, sweetness, moistness and smoothness, and is a respected representative of the style of clearness, sweetness and aromatics with a low-tar level that is highly aromatic and quiet, according to Wu.
Wu said that cigarette markets in Chongqing are not only among core markets for HongyunHonghe, but are also a hotbed for vigorous growth of cigarette brands of HongyunHonghe, and that HongyunHonghe has pinned great hopes on marketing of Yunyan (Dachongjiu) in Chongqing.
Speaking on the same occasion, Chongqing City Tobacco Monopoly Administration General Manager Li Enhua said that the presentation of Yunyan (Dachongjiu) to markets in Chongqing this time not only meant the debut of a new generation of this time-honored old cigarette brand with a new image and with new feelings, but also meant a model of technological innovation by the tobacco industry.
Yunyan (Dachongjiu) is a time-honored high-end landmark cigarette brand name of HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group.
In commemoration of the Chongjiu Uprising in Kunming City as part of the Chinese Revolution of 1911, the then tobacco industry of Yunnan created the Chongjiu cigarette brand in 1922, in its contribution to the endeavor of saving China through the development of industries. In 1943, Chongjiu brand used the image of a shield as the main design on the cigarette packet, signifying the united will of the Chinese nation to fight Japanese aggressors in the 1937-1945 Anti-Japanese War. In 1949, in commemoration of the founding of the People's Republic of China in that year, Chongjiu was renamed Dachongjiu (The Great Chongjiu). From 1950 to 2005, the output and sales volume of Dachongjiu topped 1 million cases (50 billion cigarettes), and Dachongjiu has become a classic cigarette brand in the eyes of Chinese cigarette consumers.
