US Cigars to be Rolled in India by Golden Tobacco

Moore & Bode Cigars, which has made cigars in Miami, US, for more than two decades, is moving its production to Mumbai, India, according to a Cigar Aficionado story. Rolling in India is scheduled to begin later this month, with the first cigars going on sale in the US by November. Some of the tobaccos used in the company's brands are sourced from India - and some from China and Turkey. The move was said to be intended to vastly increase production of the company's cigars for the "American" market. Moore & Bode says that it is not setting up in India to sell products in India. All of Moore & Bode's cigar brands - Flamboyan, Flamboyan Dark, Adelante, Izmir and even Miami - will be rolled in India by Golden Tobacco. And the factory will roll a new cigar, Chairman's Product, which will be the size of a cigarette. Sharon Moore Bode, president of the company, said some Moore & Bode products would continue to be made in Miami, but under license. Enditem
