China: Output of Key Cigarette Brand up in January-July

The Seven Wolves - a national-level key cigarette brand owned by Fujian Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation in southeast China's Fujian Province - saw its output and sales volume reach a total of 35.465 billion cigarettes (709,300 cases) in the first seven months of 2009, an increase of 10 percent over the same period of 2008. The output and sales volume of the Seven Wolves in the January-July period accounted for over 70 percent of the total cigarette output and sales volume of Fujian Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation in the seven-month period. In particular, the output and sales of several big members of the Seven Wolves brand family - the Seven Wolves (Soft Grey), the Seven Wolves (Soft Red), the Seven Wolves (Red), the Seven Wolves (Gutian) and the Seven Wolves (Lofty Sentiments) - in the January-July period went up by two digits year-on-year.
